Coach Vanessa, a local competitive female body builder and friend of Ms. Ritacco, came in today to teach us about different types of physical activity! Our class ran through stations and worked on aerobic, strength, and stretching exercises. It was a lot of fun!

What a wonderful and busy time at the science fair last night! I saw many creative and thought-provoking projects from students past and present,
including our very own First Grade Scientists, Owen and Safia! Owen showed how the reaction between vinegar and baking soda produces enough carbon dioxide to blow up a balloon! He even let my son, Jake, keep a balloon! Wonderful, Owen!! Safia had beautiful images of our Solar System and listed all of it's planets in order. I have no doubt she will be our resident Space Expert when we begin our Solar System research project in late April! Nice work, Safia!! Hi there! My name is Jenna Ritacco and I am the new student teacher in Mrs. Molloy's first grade class! I am currently a senior at The College of Saint Rose dual majoring in Special Education and Childhood Education. Originally, I am from Westchester County but have grown quite fond of this area throughout the past four years and plan to look for a teaching position locally once I graduate in May. I come from a family filled with teachers and I am extremely passionate about nurturing and caring for children. I have been a nanny since the age of 14 and continue to babysit part-time throughout my schooling. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with your children and look forward to all that they will teach me throughout these seven weeks!
