Welcome First Graders and First Grade Families!
Happy August, First Grade Families! I hope that every one of you has been having a safe and fun-filled summer...I know my family has! August is a bittersweet time of year for many teachers and I am no exception. While I am sad that I will soon be setting the alarm clock for 5:30 AM and dropping my son off at the babysitter, I am anxious to get this school year started! The smell of a new pencil and the unblemished tip of a new crayon bring back memories of all the excitement a new school year brings. I am looking very forward to getting to know my first graders and meeting the new first grade families. Enjoy August, see you soon!
What Have You Been Reading This Summer?
Your kindergarten teachers have told me what FABULOUS readers you all are!
You will continue to grow as readers and enjoy old favorites as well as many new books and authors. I'd love to see what you have been reading while enjoying your summer vacation! Please ask someone in your family to snap a picture of you reading your favorite book in your favorite spot and then . email it to me
I will post the pictures on our class website and we will take time to share them during the first week of school.
