Hello, First Grade Families!
My name is Stephanie Molloy and I have been teaching first grade at Voorheesville Elementary since 2008. Prior to being at Voorheesville I worked at in schools throughout the capital region. I attended graduate school at The College of Saint Rose where I became a certified literacy specialist, which is what brought me to the Albany area from Liverpool (a suburb of Syracuse). Before that I attended SUNY Oswego where I earned my bachelor's degree in childhood education.
I love teaching first grade because I've found nothing that beats a six year old's energy and enthusiasm! First grade is a magical time for students as they begin to develop their own educational identity, interests, and habits. Each day is different then the last and I love learning right along with my students!
When I am not in school I love to spend time with my husband, our children Jake and Genevieve, and our cat, Tootsie. I love exercise and cooking! My favorite foods are either spicy or sweet, which is why Mexican food, Thai food, and anything chocolate are my favorites!
