Pumpkin 3 had the most seeds...455!! Way to go to all the 1st graders for counting so high by 10's!!
First graders enjoyed taking a very close look at each of our 4 pumpkins! We were all amazed at just how different they were. During our investigation, we were able to:
We used helpful hints from the book How Many Seeds In a Pumpkin to help us with our predictions! We learned that the darker color and the number of lines on the pumpkin can help us guess which has the most seeds. We all predict that either pumpkin 3 or 4 will have the most seeds!
- Measure our pumpkin's height in cubes
- Count the lines on our pumpkin
- Weigh our pumpkin using Mrs. Brackett's digital scale
- Guess the number of seeds in our pumpkin
- Predict which pumpkin would have the most seeds
